Izzet spellslinger-tokens Commander. Saheeli, Jewel of Avishkar makes a hasty 1/1 flying Thopter for every noncreature spell — instants, sorceries, artifacts and enchantments all count. The deck runs 43 noncreature spells, most costing one or two mana, so a normal turn is two or three spells, two or three Thopters, and a pile of triggers. You win either by burning the table out with enter-the-battlefield damage or by swinging with a pumped air force.
Roles
Threat:Impact Tremors (1 damage to each opponent per Thopter), Guttersnipe (2 to each per instant or sorcery), HYDRA Assault Robot (1 per artifact entering), with Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage and Hawkeye, Young Avenger adding to every noncombat hit. Iron Man, Master of Machines and Machinesmith Automaton grow with every Thopter; Ovika, Enigma Goliath adds Goblins equal to each spell's mana value.
Removal: Burst Lightning, Lightning Strike, Abrade, Vibrant Outburst, Wrath of the Bloodmane, Pongify, Witness Protection, and Artistic Process as a one-sided sweeper.
Card draw: ten cheap cantrips (Sleight of Hand, Think Twice, Plunder the Trollshaws, I Am Iron Man, Stock Up…), Armor Wars drawing a card per artifact, Vision of Love turning a Thopter into two cards, Muse Seeker, Finale of Revelation.
Ramp:Abstract Paintmage (free {U}{R} for spells every turn), Hydro-Channeler, Arc Reactor (improvise — tap Thopters to cast it), Death to Our Enemies, Tablet of Discovery, Potioner's Trove, Sanar.
Protection: Dive Down, Chase Inspiration, Falcon's Wing Harness for Saheeli; Negate, Spell Pierce, Essence Scatter, An Offer You Can't Refuse, We Say Thee Nay! for everything else.
Lands: 36 — six nonbasics and an even Island/Mountain split.
Synergies & curve
Curve: 1 mana (11), 2 (23), 3 (14), 4 (9), 5+ (7). Mica, Reader of Ruins sacrifices a Thopter to copy any instant or sorcery. Winter, Team Player is cast by tapping Thopters and pumps the whole team per spell. The Jace package — Protege's Awakening, No Admittance, Way of the Warlord, Way of the Mind Sculptor — are all noncreature spells, so each makes a Thopter while building a Jace token the Thopters defend; Way of the Warlord turns it into repeatable burn. Rite of Replication kicked on Guttersnipe or Iron Man ends games.
With Saheeli, Impact Tremors, Guttersnipe and Tomik out, a one-mana Sleight of Hand deals 5 damage to each opponent and leaves a hasty flying Thopter behind.
Weak spots
Saheeli has no built-in protection and the deck is much slower without her — hold a hexproof spell or counter when you cast her. Thopters are 1/1s and die to any sweeper. Blue-red cannot remove resolved enchantments, only bounce or counter them. Most dual lands enter tapped. The burn engine needs two or three pieces on the battlefield to be lethal; one alone is just chip damage.
